About Us

What is the Pagan Unity Council?

Our vision is to create a local organization that is not a coven or religion-based, but instead a centralized, community focused organization that could provide support, information and services to members of the pagan community. Furthermore, the organization will work toward educating the non-pagan community and dispelling many myths involving pagans. There are other Pagan Unity Councils located in Madison and Fox Valley.

What is the Mission of the Milwaukee Pagan Unity Council?

Our mission is to provide a forum for followers of various pagan spiritual paths to openly meet and discuss their similarities and differences; to work together to gain acceptance for our members within the mainstream of our society; to provide a platform of change, growth and education for all people or groups accepting of, or open to, the goals and beliefs of the pagan community.

How long has Milwaukee PUC been around?

The first meeting for the Milwaukee PUC group was held on November 5th, 2002. The initial meetings were utilized to establish the organization’s By-Laws and legal identity, culminating in the filing of the Articles of Incorporation for Milwaukee Pagan Unity Council, Inc. in January 2003.

What does Milwaukee PUC do for the community?

Milwaukee PUC has hosted five Ostara festivals. The events included vendors, workshops, and various activities directed toward educating both the pagan and non-pagan communities. We coordinate the Pub Moots, held at Fritz’s Pub on the corner of 20th and Oklahoma (click here for map).  Milwaukee PUC also administers the Pagan Assistance Fund, designed to help people in times of need. We also want to support and sponsor events for non-profit organizations in the community and develop informational resources for area pagans and friends.

Where do membership dues go?

Membership dues go toward the establishing of new services, and the hosting of fund raising and community education events.
